This is part of my holiday homework for college - the theme of my project being bones and plant life. 
This is made up of quite a few different things. First is the base layer of torn pages about 'bones', from a really old encyclopaedia I found at a market. Then there is the pen drawing of the skull and poppies and red and white coloured pencils and I finished everything with a thin coat of PVA - so all the pieces of paper stayed together, and I quite like the sheen it gives the page.
The reason I chose poppies is because I read online that they symbolise eternal sleep (or death) and since a skull is usually a symbol of a similar meaning I thought they'd fit together well.
